Coopetition of European Union Countries within Destination Management

چکیده

Coopetition has been the issue of various studies in different fields, but there is a research gap examining coopetition within tourism sector and destination management. This paper aims to determine whether are internally homogeneous externally heterogeneous groups European Union countries regarding indicators natural cultural resources Travel Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI), thus subsequently identify importance possibilities competition among sector. Multidimensional scaling cluster analysis used verify hypothesis, along with ten fourth sub-index (Natural Cultural Resources) TTCI. The results led six-group solution. Italy, Spain, France have best position terms competitiveness. show space for international market. Even though EU competitors at global level, their cooperation could be beneficial development. findings this study can helpful planning strategy development policymakers management organizations also develop marketing strategies. Furthermore, between destinations will support need strategic flexibility sector, as diversity attractions increase.
